BASIC FUNCTION:

This position is responsible for all accounting functions. Manages all monthly reports and strives to keep budget on track with industry standards.

OUTCOMES:

Keep VAP in parameters for industry standards based on monthly Dashboard of Control Measure

-If graph shows that we are not in parameters, team member must present a plan for changes to budget that can put VAP back in parameters within three months.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures timely closing of accounting records and accurate financial statement reporting to ownership.

  • Manages company’s cash resources through proper management of accounts receivable collections and accounts payable payments.
  • Prepares budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
  • Perform/Provide financial, clerical and administrative services to ensure efficient, timely accurate maintenance and processing of accounts payable/receivable transactions.
  • Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Provides status of financial condition by analyzing, collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data and making appropriate recommendations to improve systems and financial performance.
  • Ensures proper compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements.
  • Prepares and presents financial reports and advising management on needed actions.
  • Tracks variances properly including purchase price, labor and overhead efficiencies and makes recommendations as appropriate.
  • Substantiate and justify expenditures and expense reports
  • Perform year end audits, reports, and filing.
  • Implement lean accounting
  • Provides input as needed in procurement decisions including contract review.
  • Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
  • Manage time efficiently and effectively with a pre-planned schedule.

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Knowledge of general accounting procedures including accrual base accounting, organizational auditing, fixed asset accounting and tax filing requirements.
  • Proficient in relevant computer applications, data entry and management
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices

  • Preferred experience in accounting and finance management in manufacturing environment but not a requirement

  • Read blueprint or job order to determine product specifications and tooling instructions.
  • Set up variety of production equipment, selecting and tooling, printing specs, colors, and print plates according to blueprints and customer specifications.
  • Mount tooling and other devices onto equipment.
  • Operate production equipment according to customer specifications.
  • Monitor the production line, watching for problems such as pile-ups, jams, and/or glue that isn’t sticking properly and to detect machine malfunctions.
  • Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report malfunctions to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Input accurate data into computer system.
  • Improve efficiencies, adhere to continuous improvement philosophy, and make recommendations to Plant Manager regarding improving production and/or quality processes.
  • Inspect assemblies and finished products against pre-determined quality standards when working in assembly.
  • Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the Controller, using continuous improvement form.
  • Operate hand tools and/or other tools along with heavy equipment such as production equipment and/or forklifts
  • Display cooperation when working with co-workers, Front Line Leader, Process Engineer and President.
  • Communicate with Maintenance Manager when dealing with equipment or co-worker issues/problems.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum one year manufacturing and/or assembly experience in production-oriented setting
  • High school diploma or equivalency
