The Fuel from the Big Picture!!

This is very simple: every employee needs to see the Big Picture. This kind of knowledge enables our employees to honor the values we seek to live and to work by at Value Added Packaging. Employees, typically, are not motivated by values alone. Instead, employees are drawn to outcomes (pay, bonuses, ETC.). The connection and involvement your staff feels with the business builds a self-worth in the growth and continuous improvement of VAP. This will help dissolve the “us and them factor.” We want to build a relationship of trust and ownership within our employees. This will resonate throughout each and every employee because we feel more of a connection to others with whom we share the common goal.

The big picture is all about clarity: you know where you are headed and your actions are aligned with our business goals. With the big picture clearly in mind, every decision you make and every action you take can be considered in how it supports or suffocates our vision.

The more meaningful our business becomes to our employees, the more effort they will exert to bring about our team success. This is very different than a mission or vision statement that is “owned” by the organization and not the individuals. The employees own the mission or vision statement. It becomes the first thought process in any decision that we make toward our company’s growth or any type of change from the process we use on our manufacturing floor to the decision of our future with growth. If we all understand our role in the big picture, we begin to think differently toward our daily activities. We focus on the longevity of the company, which helps make us more focused on the end result of the big picture.

Value Added Packaging has the bus heading in the right direction. Each member of our staff, from the floor production personnel to the Leaders understand how we all work together to get to the finish line and celebrate the achieving moment when we blow right past it. We want the best associates riding along on our bus. We celebrate each individual’s differences and use that to help think outside the normal box to be creative in us moving the bus. I guess you can say that the fuel for our bus is the ideas that come from understanding and accepting the big picture and the roles we have to help move it forward.

All aboard the VAP bus! Next stop, GREATNESS!!!!
